Lifestreaming vs Blogging

I’m a fan of lifestreaming, party because it’s the new thing to do, but also partly because it’s easier to do, blogging takes effort - it used to take me days to write a post.

Of course, this means that my blog posts previously were higher quality, even if they were fewer and far between and I eventually stopped writing them because it felt like a chore.

I’ve had some good feedback on my tumblr from people, and people comment and it’s easy to post, I enjoy tumbling, but I have had some negative feedback too from people who aren’t fans of lifestreams.

The nature of blogging is ‘hit driven’ - a killer post will drive a million hits. I don’t like this model, although it’s fun to get a hit, it’s not very sustainable, the randomness of getting a hit will eventually mean a long stream of misses and thus be discouraging. So I’m gonna stick with tumblin. I just wish more people used tumblr because the reblog/like functionality is pretty powerful.
